Dental Crowns

Crowns are like hats on a bad-hair day: they can cover and protect any damaged teeth by sitting over the tooth and covering its whole surface. Here at the Cosmetic Dentistry Group, we understand that broken down teeth can sometimes be a stress factor, and we will work with you to make sure your Crowns look as natural – and feel as natural – as possible,

WHAT ARE DENTAL CROWNS?

Dental Crowns are made from a range of materials, but the goal is always the same: protect and cover your damaged teeth. Unlike Veneers, placing a Crown requires removing a lot of your existing tooth. Crowns can last up to 10 years if your oral hygiene is good.

WHAT CAN THE COSMETIC DENTISTRY GROUP DO FOR YOU?

The highly experienced dentists at the Cosmetic Dentistry Group will assess your oral health to make sure that Dental Crowns are a suitable treatment for you. They will also discuss the best material for your Crowns, as all-porcelain or all-ceramic Crowns look more natural and won’t show at your gum line.

Our dentists will then prepare your tooth by cleaning it and reshaping it. This will be done under local anaesthesia, and our dentists are fully qualified and able to offer sedation dentistry if you are a nervous patient. Our dentists will then take a mould of your teeth, which will enable the world-class laboratories we work with to manufacture a perfectly fitting Crown for your tooth.

While the laboratory is at work, we can fit you with a temporary Crown. Then, at your second appointment, our dentists will fit your Crown, making sure you are happy with the feel and colour.

Our dentists will also advise you on the best care for your Crown after it has been fitted.
